Kawasaki Z300 Unveiled: Ninja 300-Based Naked Gets TFT Display, Bookings Open October 19, Price Due October 20

Kawasaki has revealed the Z300, a new entry-level street-naked motorcycle based on the Ninja 300 platform, ahead of its India launch. Bookings open on October 19, 2026, and full specifications, variants and pricing are due on October 20, according to Autocar India and ZigWheels.
What was revealed
The Z300 was shown at a recent event in Bangalore, where it drew attention for a muscular silhouette that closely resembles the larger Z900, Autocar India reported. ZigWheels, citing its sources, described it as a private event. It is set to become the entry point to Kawasaki's Z lineup.
Key details
- Platform and engine: The Z300 uses the same 296 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine as the Ninja 300, per Kawasaki India as quoted by ZigWheels. NewsBytes reports figures of 39 hp and 26.1 Nm with a six-speed gearbox, and describes them as expected, so confirm them against Kawasaki's official specifications on October 20.
- Display: A TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity replaces the semi-digital unit on the Ninja 300.
- Ergonomics: Wide handlebars and a relaxed riding position, per NewsBytes. The Z300 drops the fairing of the Ninja 300.
- Colours: Green and black options are reported.
Price and rivals
Kawasaki has not announced a price. Autocar India says that if the company can price the Z300 around the sub-Rs 3 lakh mark, it would be a good rival for the KTM 390 Duke and TVS Apache RTR 310. The same report cautions that the Kawasaki should bring refinement but would not match those two on outright performance and chassis specification. ZigWheels also expects it to be priced under Rs 3 lakh ex-showroom.
A note on the name
Kawasaki sold a Z300 in some global markets around 2015 as a naked version of the Ninja 300. The 2026 India model uses the same name, and it is a separate, new model with modern features such as the TFT display.
