BMW has introduced the facelifted versions of its flagship 7 Series and i7 luxury sedans in India. Prices for the updated range start at around ₹1.95 crore.
The facelift brings updates to the cars' styling, technology and luxury features while retaining BMW's focus on premium comfort and performance.
One of the biggest developments is the local assembly of the BMW i7 at BMW's Chennai manufacturing facility.
India is reportedly among the first countries outside BMW's key production markets to manufacture the flagship electric sedan locally. Local production could also help BMW manage pricing and improve the availability of the i7 in the Indian market.
BMW's future performance lineup has also attracted attention after reports of an uncovered 2027 BMW 3 Series M350 xDrive prototype.
The M350 xDrive is expected to replace the current M340i and could feature a 443-hp mild-hybrid inline-six petrol engine. The xDrive all-wheel-drive system is expected to remain an important part of the performance package.
If launched as reported, the M350 xDrive would sit below the full M3 while offering a significant performance upgrade over standard 3 Series variants.
BMW has also been showcasing its next-generation design direction. The new electric i3 is expected to introduce a fresh interpretation of BMW's styling, while the X5 40d xDrive continues to highlight the company's commitment to powerful diesel SUVs.
The new design approach is expected to influence several future BMW models.
BMW India has also strengthened its celebrity association by appointing Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh as its official brand voice.
The partnership is expected to support BMW's marketing and communication strategy in India and connect the brand with a younger, lifestyle-focused audience.
BMW India could face additional pricing pressure as the Indian rupee weakens against the US dollar and raw-material costs remain a concern.
The company has already implemented multiple price increases in 2026, and further hikes could make premium BMW models more expensive for Indian buyers.
With the facelifted 7 Series and i7, local production of the i7, the upcoming M350 xDrive and a new generation of electric models, BMW's India portfolio is entering an important transition period.
The company is balancing luxury, electrification, performance and local manufacturing while continuing to expand its presence in India's premium automotive market.
