Apple Unveils HomeView: A $299 Smart Home Display Powered by Siri AI

Apple has entered the smart display market with HomeView, announced at its 'Welcome home' experience in New York City on October 13, 2026.
HomeView Highlights
- Display: 7-inch Liquid Retina screen.
- Price: $299 in the United States, for both versions.
- Versions: tabletop and wall-mounted models.
- Availability: pre-orders opened October 13, with shipping starting November 13.
- Features: FaceTime calls, music playback, photo slideshows, integration with Messages, Calendar, Reminders and Find My, and a dashboard for controlling connected accessories.
- Siri AI: Apple positions the device around a new version of Siri powered by Apple Intelligence, with voice and touch control of cameras, thermostats, lights and locks.
Apple Home Collection
Apple also introduced the Apple Home Collection, its first lineup of smart home accessories, developed with LG and Schneider Electric. It includes indoor and outdoor cameras, a video doorbell, a door lock and smart thermostats. The accessories support Thread and Matter, and are due later this year or early next year, with no exact dates given. HomeView also works with other Works with Apple Home and Matter-compatible devices.
HomePod mini 2
The refreshed HomePod mini 2 is available to pre-order and arrives earlier, on October 30. A new Apple TV 4K was announced at the same event.
Competitive Context
HomeView puts Apple in direct competition with Amazon's Echo Show and Google's Nest Hub. Reporters noted that Apple's earlier HomePod products had a mixed history in the market, and that the home push was delayed in part by the long-awaited Siri overhaul. Some reports indicate certain Siri AI features will arrive through a later software update, so check Apple's product pages for current availability in your region.
