“Sharam Nahi Hai Mardon Mein, Aurat Kyun Hai Parde Mein?”: Delhi Students Protest for Women’s Safety After Aastha Kunj Case
Delhi University students and women’s groups have taken to the streets following the alleged gang rape of a 17-year-old girl at South Delhi’s Aastha Kunj Park. Protesters are demanding better lighting, CCTV surveillance, police patrolling and safer routes while opposing restrictions on women’s movement as a response to violence. A separate protest at Lovely Professional University in Punjab has also drawn attention to questions of campus safety and accountability.
