The 18th BRICS Summit concluded in New Delhi with a 45-page declaration focused on economic resilience, global governance, trade, technology and greater representation for the Global South. The expanded bloc also discussed geopolitical challenges, financial cooperation and alternatives to Western-dominated systems.
The 18th BRICS Summit is underway in New Delhi, with India hosting leaders and representatives from BRICS member and partner countries. Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived ahead of the summit and is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. AIIB President Zou Jiayi has also arrived in Delhi. The summit comes as BRICS marks two decades since its formation. Discussions are expected to cover economic cooperation, trade and investment, sustainable development, climate finance, technology and global and regional issues. While several areas of cooperation are on the agenda, the summit's final outcomes and any formal decisions are expected to emerge only after the leaders' discussions conclude.
