The United States delivered an impressive batting performance to defeat the United Arab Emirates by six wickets in Match 129 of the ICC Cricket World Cup League Two 2023-27 at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.

After winning the toss, USA elected to field and were set a challenging target of 331 runs. UAE finished their 50 overs on 330/8, setting up what appeared to be a demanding chase.

USA, however, responded with authority, reaching 332/4 in 48.5 overs to complete one of their most convincing run chases in the competition.

UAE made a strong start with the bat, with several players contributing to a competitive total.

Muhammad Shahdad produced the innings' standout performance, scoring an impressive 114 runs from 107 deliveries. His century provided the foundation for UAE's 330-run total.

Tanish Suri also played a crucial role, contributing 78 off 78 balls, including 10 fours and two sixes.

Their efforts kept UAE on course for a substantial score, although the USA bowlers managed to take regular wickets towards the latter stages.

For USA, Harmeet Singh was the leading bowler, finishing with 4/65 in 10 overs. Saurabh Netravalkar also picked up a wicket while conceding 38 runs from 8.1 overs.

USA's chase was transformed by an outstanding innings from Milind Kumar.

Coming into the middle order, Kumar played a controlled but increasingly aggressive innings, remaining unbeaten on 116 from just 84 balls. His knock included seven fours and five sixes, giving USA the momentum required to chase down the target comfortably.

Kumar reached his century with USA closing in on the target and continued attacking until the very end.

His performance earned him the Player of the Match award after he contributed with both bat and ball, finishing with figures of 0/34 alongside his match-winning century.

While Milind Kumar dominated the chase, Shubham Ranjane provided crucial support at the other end.

Ranjane scored an unbeaten 57 off 49 balls, including two fours and three sixes. The pair added the finishing touches to the chase and ensured USA did not allow UAE back into the contest.

The final overs underlined USA's control.

Ranjane struck a six from Ali Naseer's bowling in the 48th over before Kumar finished the match with a boundary in the next over. USA reached 332/4 after 48.5 overs, completing the six-wicket victory with seven balls remaining.

The victory is significant for the United States as the ICC Cricket World Cup League Two 2023-27 continues.

League Two serves as an important pathway towards the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier, making every victory valuable as teams compete for a place among the leading sides.

USA's successful chase also demonstrated the team's growing batting depth. Chasing more than 300 in an ODI requires sustained partnerships and a strong finish, and the combination of Milind Kumar and Shubham Ranjane delivered exactly that.

For UAE, the defeat will be disappointing after posting a total of 330. Shahdad's century and Suri's 78 gave the side a strong platform, but the bowling attack could not defend the target.
