Aichi-Nagoya, Japan — India's women's cricket team delivered the country's first gold medal of the 2026 Asian Games, beating Sri Lanka in the final on 22 September. ESPNcricinfo's match report credited Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma and Richa Ghosh with leading a dominant performance.

According to Khel Now, India's tally stood at 12 medals — 1 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze as of 22 September.
